Geowatt

Country: Switzerland

Persons involved in the Project
Is a SME geothermal engineering company of six full-time employees with broad expertise in numerical simulations of transport phenomena in fractured rock and porous media. Further subjects of their expertise are dimensioning and installation of low enthalpy energy systems for heating purposes. Geowatt AG is working on geothermal resource studies in Switzerland, tunneling related seepage forecast in complex Alpine hydrogeological terrain and reservoir characterization. Recently, in the framework of cooperation within the European EGS system at Soultz-sous-Forêts, they evaluated hydro-mechanical interaction due to massive hydraulic injections in the reservoir by calculating the spatial and transient evolution of microseismicity in fracture crys talline rock. As such, they successfully forecasted microseismic and hydraulic behavior at the last Soultz GPK4 stimulation.

  • Prediction and assessment of hydrothermal conditions
  • Interpretation of seismic signals for reservoir characterization
  • Interface software to link field data with FE or FV codes
