Is the national coordination centre of Greece on renewable energy technologies, including geothermal energy and the official Greek government consultant in national policy, strategy and planning. In addition, CRES carries out applied research and works as promotor, organiser and advisor on all aspects of planning and implementation of renewable energies. CRES and the personnel of its geothermal department have accumulated valuable experience in all aspects of geothermal exploration and exploitation, including dissemination activities. CRES has designed, financed and supervised many R&D activities on all aspects of geothermal energy, participating in more than 60 European and nationally funded projects. These include design, financing, works supervision, construction, testing and monitoring of innovative geothermal applications, geothermal resource assessment, geothermal exploration, policy making, legislation and others. Recent applications includeground-coupled heat pumps, drilling exploration and seawater desalination.
